As a soon to be second time mama, my tip for pregnancy is:
Give yourself grace, and be kind to yourself.
Pregnancy changes so much of yourself, and your body and there really is no way to prevent it. I know how hard it is to be told at your first appointment how much you’re “expected” to gain during pregnancy just to turn around and double that.
You’re going to change. You’re going to get bigger. You’re going to get cranky, and tired and hormonal. Pregnancy rage is so real, and so rarely talked about. You aren’t crazy, you’re just growing a human and let’s be real, that’s actually kind of insane if you think about it ![]()
I didn’t “bounce back” after my first, and I highly doubt I will with my second. I have stretch marks everywhere. Behind my knees, my arm pits, my stomach, quite literally everywhere. And you know what? That’s simply proof that I did something AMAZING and grew my best friend from scratch.
I gained 65+ pounds, went up quite literally 10 pant sizes (which I call BS because women’s clothing sizes are a scam) and you know what? Some days I care so much about it. Some days I cry because I cannot find anything that fits me. But you know who doesn’t care? My tiny little human who just wants mama to get dressed and go run around outside.
Be so gentle on yourself during this season of life. You may never get your old body back, but that doesn’t mean you have to hate your new one ![]()
