One thing my husband and I enjoy doing together is making fresh bread! The store bought bread is crap and all the preservatives in it are so bad for you. Did you know that a loaf of store bought bread can stay mold free for up to a year?! We’ve tested it! Ever since we have started making our own bread, we have less stomach issues. Even my mother in law, who we thought had a gluten intolerance, can eat it. Turns out it was just all the toxic bs that the companies put in their bread to make it last longer that was making us sick!
And what do you do when you forget to add all the ingredients to the dough that has been set out to rise for an hour already? Give it to the baby! It was such a fun sensory experience for her! She smooshed it, knocked on it, stomped on it, and threw it around the kitchen. She really enjoyed playing with the dough. It was so cute!
So smart to let your little one play with the dough! She seems to be having so much fun. I hope we don’t forget this week but if/when we do, it’ll be so fun to watch our son play with it.
Thank you! I absolutely love making bread! It’s such a great stress reliever, isn’t it? Just out of curiosity, what kind of flour do you like to use? I just discovered that Pilsbury makes a bread flour that is processed with wheat instead of bleached/enriched flour. It’s more filling when you eat it, and my daughter likes it better too. So something to try if you you haven’t yet!
It really is! At first I wasn’t so sure about all the kneading lol and thought about getting a mixer or bread machine but now it’s just become my thing and I love it.
Ooo I’ll have to look into that one! We use the King Arthur Bread Flour and All Purpose Flour for muffins.
