How do you breastfeed in public? And how do your family/friends feel or react about it. Earlier I was breastfeeding for the first time around my mom and grandma and they were kinda weird about it and wanted me to cover up completely but having a blanket over baby boy literally made it difficult and he was getting frustrated. My mom even made a comment that it would be indecent exposure (not true lol) but we were in a restaurant and it was completely dead and whipping about my boob would’ve been much easier. My dad also gets really uncomfortable at any mention of breastfeeding/boobs etc and if I were to breastfeed around him I guarantee he would leave the room. I’ve breastfed around my boyfriend’s family and they were not weird about it at all, I did cover up then too but my boyfriend was there to help hold the blanket so I could see
My family gets uncomfortable about it as well! I hate that there is so much negativity around it because it is literally what our body’s are designed to do! People also comment about still breast feeding when they have teeth and then look at you like you are crazy for still breastfeeding at a year old or past that. Don’t let any of that bother you, you are doing what’s best for your baby. I wish I had enough confidence to breastfeed in public I usually just pump on the way to where we are going or feed the baby in the car in between I am trying to get better about it though
