Breastfeeding Story

This is my third time breastfeeding out four babies. My first baby I was so lost and not very much help was provided to me at that time. Breastfeeding was hush hush and not talked about, now with my fourth baby I had done so much research and met some amazing mommas who have boosted my confidence and made me feel scene and heard! I feed in public now with no ounce of shame and I’m always encouraging other mommas to do it! This is a beautiful & healthy experience for our babies!

It truly is such a beautiful thing isn’t it!!

And I’m so surprised breastfeeding was not talked about much for you!!! I feel like I had the opposite experience which I think is fine but also I think anyway you fed your baby is a beautiful thing

I’m so glad you had a better experience this time! It’s crazy to me that so many people see breastfeeding as a problem. Like what? If you’re not giving your baby a bottle, people are confused. My mother in law said I need to get my daughter used to a bottle because she’s older now(she’s 18 months). I explained to her what a pain in the you know what that would be compared to simply nursing her. I’m not against bottles…I just don’t see the point in going through all that if you don’t have to

I had my first baby in 2012 and it wasn’t talked about then or much knowledge at all. I don’t remember having lacation specialists. They pushed formula alot and didn’t encourage breastfeeding. My second baby in 2014 I made myself go through everything and found help with WIC. My third in 2016 was a better experience, they would push breastfeeding first then offer formula which helped me in my journey a lot.

I definitely understand that! Although I just had my first baby, I come from a country where we don’t have even 1/3 of the products available in the US when it comes to breastfeeding support. I’m a healthcare provider, and it always saddened me how many women wouldn’t even try to breastfeed despite having the wish to do so due to the widespread lack of support

Having Other pumping moms give support really does help in so many ways.

My first journey I was so uncomfortable feeding outside. My second time around- I nursed my baby at 2months postpartum at a bowling alley! I couldn’t have been more proud of myself!!

I’m glad you met your community. With my first I always breastfed inside a car or away from everyone, with my second I just pop the boob out
