My journey was hard. I had a reduction at 21 and wasn’t sure I would be able to breastfeed. I was able to breastfeed but was a super low supplier. I also didn’t know when to start pumping or anything like that. I felt like I was set up to fail. At 11 weeks postpartum I found a great LC who help me get a hang of things. I was still a low supplier but was able to provide my daughter with milk. I breastfeed until she was 14 months old.
This is very inspiring! It warms my soul reading stories like yours ![]()
Breastfeeding after surgery comes with such unique challenges, and it can feel so isolating trying to navigate supply issues early on. It’s incredible that you found a great LC to support you and made it to 14 months! Congrats on that milestones ![]()
That’s awesome That you were able to make it to 14 months finding a LC that can help makes all the difference!
14m!!! That is goals right there wow! I’m so happy for you that’s amazing
That is amazing you made it 14weeks, you didn’t give up and asked for help- for that I’m so proud of you!! Sometimes it’s hard to ask for help, but it pays off!
It did feel a little isolating. It has been hard to find others who had a breast reduction and able to breastfeed.
My goal was 12 months then decided to extend it out a bit. I am proud of that. It was not easy.
