To begin I was a singe mother who breastfed for 3 years along of course with solid foods . Yes she had teeth and yes it hurt but I continued for my own sanity . The night feedings is what dragged this for this long . Having never taken a bottle or pacifier I literally chose breastfeeding so I could geT some rest . The cuddles and comfort my daughter craved I gave into but the longer it went on the he harder is was . Even with all the benefits it gave her I’d would definitely advise to not only establish not co sleeping as a routine and introduce bottles sooner then later. Having only trying once and giving up because I had no support or knowledge I’d would have broken our routine sooner . Not only was this physically draining on myself but the nights sometimes would have me crying for hours because I would be sore and exhausted but feel guilty because I didn’t know what to do . So PUMP , DON’T MAKE CO SLEEPING A NIGHTLY THING , USE THE BOTTLES / SIPPY CUPS ! I chose night time breastfeeding for my sanity in the moment but it was even harder to break this habit . Only stopped due to a sudden surgery and physically wasn’t able to continue. She did have a hard first couple of days but within a week she was fine and things are way better. Showed me new routines can be a great things and there’s always something new to be learned

Hi! Welcome to the Momcozy community! We’re happy to have you here! ❤

Thank you for sharing your experience. I’ve been breastfeeding 18 months, but we don’t bed share. You’re right though, you lose a LOT of sleep with breastfeeding. My daughter still wakes up every couple hours, so nights are much longer than they might be otherwise. At this point though, she won’t take a bottle or sippy cup with breastmilk in it. I figure I’ll catch up on sleep one day lol
