Summer is here, and I know we want to make sure we are doing everything we can to protect our children. If your child is 6 months or older, they can wear sunscreen and bug spray. Sunscreen is generally reapplied every 2 hours, and mosquito spray is usually reapplied every 4 hours. I found a brand called Hello Bello that is essential oil and mineral based. It seems like a really healthy option, but after doing some research, I found out that it is moderately hazardous! I did some research after buying it, and found this website called EWG.org. It lists all the EWG verified products. EWG stands for environmental working group, a group of toxicologists, that checks products for health and safety. I always check this website before buying hygiene products for my daughter now!
I have seen bad reviews all over fb for the hello bello Sunscreen saying it doesn’t work and causes bad burns
why It is so hard to find good quality products for our kids
I hadn’t heard that! It CAUSES burns? I was just going to use it up on myself. Maybe not so much now. It’s sad how we have to really research to make sure baby products are actually safe for babies
A few people said it caused burns and some said it didn’t work and they got sunburned
I also saw the hello hello brand getting so much heat recently!!
I’ve been seeing great things about badger mosquito balm ! But this looks great too!!! Imma have to try it
Well it makes sense now why my daughter still gets a bit of a sunburn when we go out
Ugh! These companies really make me mad
I’ll have to check them out. They’re rated really well on the EWG website
Oh no poor baby! I just saw it and wanted you to know so that didn’t happen for yall
I really appreciate you for that! Luckily the sunburn wasn’t too bad.
These options were on the EWG website for the best options.
That’s really good information to have! It’s nice that there’s more than one option, and there’s one for everyone’s price range. I saw Babyganics is only around $10 each for sunscreen and bug spray on Amazon, and they’re highly rated too. I’ve really been wanting the one by Everdeen, but it’s closer to $30. I thought about getting the Pipers one the other day when I was at Target. I think it was like $15 or so
They do have one for every price range I wanted to try the pipette too I looked at it while I was in target I will have to get it next time
That’s awesome I’m going to have to check this brand out our bugs are bad this year
I’m seriously considering pipette too. It seems like a nice mid range cost product to get
It’s definitely worth it to get some bug spray. I don’t know if it’s just my daughter, but every bug bite she gotten really swells up big
It does
I’ve seen that happen to lots of kids!!! It’s gotten me so paranoid
It must be a baby thing then
