I have a son, 8 weeks, who is currently going through another growth spurt. Each new growth spurt seems to get progressively more uncomfortable for him and causes extra fussiness. He also becomes a very clingy baby. Is anyone else going through or has gone through this that found non-traditional ways of making it work? I would appreciate any tips for helping comfort him and/or how to get my everyday chores done with a baby that refuses to be put down. It can be frustrating and defeating at times when I’m doing everything I know to do to comfort him, but he continues to cry. I’ve tried a pacifier, rocking, swaying, sitting, standing, changing hold positions, pats, back rubs, belly rubs, head rubs, shushing, and humming/singing. He is usually a very calm and happy baby. However, his growth spurts typically last several days, and it’s distressing when I can’t seem to provide him with what he needs to soothe.
