How come none of the moms told me about the challenges of gassy babies during these first few weeks/months!? I can barely sleep at night because I’m worried he’s in pain or awake and if I should tend to him. I wish I knew the magic secret to what’s causing him to get so much gas (is it my latching for breastfeeding?) and I wish I knew the antidote! We use the drops, switched to a new formula and everyone’s telling me it’s normal and it will pass - but how come it feels and looks so crazy!!
Around three months we had gas’s problems too!!! It was so ruff
not just for us but obviously for baby! I hated hearing him in pain and I tried every too! Gas drops, probiotics and changing my diet eventually it did get better but wow I feel you it’s so hard! Hang in there mamas !!! ![]()

Gas can be so hard when you are exhausted and your baby seems uncomfortable. We have been there too. What helped us was burping frequently, holding baby upright after feeding, and gentle leg movements. But honestly, time helped the most.
What I did was burp my baby. When she didn’t like being burped, I rocked and bounced dramatically while standing to burp her. I kept her upright for 20 minutes after feeding, even in the middle of the night. I want to say she didn’t have a problem with gas all the time around 6 months old. She only has gas problems every once in awhile now at 15 months
I agree. My baby is eight weeks old and around four weeks she started getting so gassy and was spitting up everything after every feeding and was so miserable. She’s on Pepcid now, but it unfortunately hasn’t done a whole lot. I hate it, especially when she spits up and gags or you can tell she’s choking on her reflux.
Baby’s are so gassy I hate it for them because they are so uncomfortable. We do gas drops and probiotics and they have helped
