No mother goes through her breastfeeding journey without accidentally spilling milk, forgetting it on the counter, or losing a stash because of a power outage or something completely out of her control. Things happen, and none of us are perfect.
We cry over it because every ounce represents our time, effort, and love. Those feelings are real, and it’s okay to let them out.
Today, I want to remind myself, and maybe another mama who needs to hear this, that maybe angel babies needed that milk more than we know. Instead of throwing away my expired milk or the milk I accidentally left on the counter, I decided to save it until I had at least 50 to 100 ounces for milk baths. Well… now was the perfect time.
Instead of letting guilt be the last memory attached to those ounces, I turned them into laughter, splashes, and a tiny photoshoot with my baby.
If your milk has expired but doesn’t have a foul smell, you can still give it a beautiful purpose. It can be preserved as breast milk jewelry, used for a milk bath, or turned into soap. Your breastfeeding journey is still worth celebrating, and every ounce still tells a story.

Awww I love this!! We did milk bath pictures for my first and then one for my second. I’ll have to share mine! For my second we still need to do a session in the tub with our next pile of accidentally milk loss
You definitely have to share them when you got a chance! It’s funny how we all end up with a little collection of ‘oops’ milk that’s perfect for a milk bath.
She had so much fun! She kept pretending she was choking on the water every time I tried to pick her up. She’s so smart and silly, she just didn’t want to get out of the tub!
Ever since I seen her climbing on the sink she’s been my fav lol, just so full of life. I love it, I know she keeps the house on their toes and so fun!

I cried sooo hard the first time I spilled milk (8oz! That I power pumped for ) then I heard the saying “you fed the angel babies” after hearing that I no longer cry, my heart still hurts a bit but hearing that saying helped so much as I have lost 2 sets of twins and 2 singletons.
Oh my goodness, 8oz from a power pump is such hard work! Spilling is hard enough, but that saying truly brings such a beautiful, gentle comfort to a painful moment. Sending you so much love and holding space for your sweet angel babies. Big hugs to you!
