It was about emotional support

One moment I really struggled with feeding was the second night after my baby was born; my right breast was cracked and latching was super painful :sob:, as the night went and a day passed I was afraid of the time when it was the right side turn to feed my baby, until eventually I stopped, that was a huge mistake! my breast was so engorged and the pain was escalating, I was seriously considering stopping breastfeeding at all! what helped was keeping the conversation really honest with my best friend who’s an experienced mom of 2, she kept cheering on and being honest with me too about the hardships, she didn’t sugarcoat motherhood for me, but she kept reminding me how strong and brave I was for deciding to keep going, she told me to apply heat before pumping/feeding and after sessions apply cold and that helped a lot, but her emotional support was what made the difference and here we are! 6 months into exclusively breastfeeding :heart_hands:t2:

Yes! Social media sugarcoats it and makes it seem like cupcakes and rainbows! I was genuinely shocked it was much harder then it’s made out to be!
