One support tip I would add for new mamas is…It’s okay to leave the room.
Your baby will cry for what seems like no reason at all! You will try everything, and your mind will make you feel like you are not doing enough because there is just nothing that will make your baby stop crying, lol.
I’ve been there! For a couple of months, my baby wouldn’t stop crying starting from 4 or 6 p.m. until around 9/10-ish. Was he colicky? We’re not sure, and the doctor didn’t think so! Anyway, he would just cry and cry, and there’s a moment when you start to feel helpless and like there’s nothing you can do. Your mind is going to try to convince you that you are the worst mom in the world or that your baby hates you, and none of that is true.
Tag team with your partner and leave the room to take a break, or if you are alone, place your baby in a safe place, a.k.a. their crib or bassinet (baby monitors help a lot to keep an eye on them while taking a breather), and just step outside.
Take a break you deserve those 5 min after dealing with a crying baby for what seems an eternity lol! I promise, this phase won’t last forever. Also, remember to ask for help; it’s okay and won’t make you weak!
Your baby needs a healthy mama in body and mind, so I encourage you to take a break when needed and ask for help.
Ps: here’s a pic of us trying to get a cute family picture for his first month but my baby would just not stop crying ![]()
now this is my favorite picture (you can see our faces of desperation like-What do we do now!?).
