Lactation Breast Massage

Thought I’d share this here…

Did you know that in the Philippines, we have something called a lactation massage? Along with lactation consultants, there are trained practitioners who perform breast massage to help soften rock-hard, engorged breasts, relieve clogged ducts, and make breastfeeding more comfortable. All at once. It was a huge help for me.

When I got pregnant with my third baby here in the U.S., I was surprised that I couldn’t find this service. I asked at the hospital and spoke with OBs and nurses, but no one was familiar with it or offered it where I was. I was disappointed because I remembered how much it had helped me before.

Thankfully, I still remembered the techniques I had learned, so after giving birth, I gently massaged my breasts myself while breastfeeding and pumping. It worked well for me, and I was fortunate not to experience any major issues.

I wish I had known about lactation massage with my first baby. I didn’t have the knowledge or support back then. By my second pregnancy, I started researching breastfeeding and learned so much more. That knowledge helped me successfully breastfeed my second baby, and now my third as well.

Question to all of you mamas. Would you try something like this? Or you’ll pass hard? Because I searched it is ill£gal in some states and some s£xualiz£d it that’s why it’s not offered here or in most of the states.

Food for thought

First the food looks delicious second. I think that would be great. I hate that people sexualize it but even some people sexualize breastfeeding. It’s very weird

I think it is very interesting that different countries have different ways to help pregnant women before, during and after giving birth.

When I used to live in Taiwan, I learned a lot about the importance of nutrition postpartum. There were specific dishes that stores and restaurants sold for women who have given birth. I never bought it because I was not pregnant back then but now looking back at it I do wonder if there’s any places nearby that sell specialty dishes for postpartum moms.

Gosh I miss Taiwan :taiwan: :sob:

I’ve never heard of that! But I would definitely try it! Clogged ducks suck! I usually try and massage them myself.
