Meals for postpartum

One support tip I have for pregnant moms is to prep postpartum meals before delivery.

Some people have a community around them who will bake and bring over meals. Some do not and you may not realize before hand the extra difficulty of decision making, grocery shopping, and cooking with a newborn.

So you could do things a couple of ways:

:spaghetti: While your pregnant, if your making sometime freezable, make a few extra servings and pop them in the freezer.

:wrapped_gift: Add it to your baby registry for the option for other people to bring a freezer meal.

:tada: Is this baby #2+ and you don’t need a shower but want to celebrate? Have a meal prep party. People can sign up to bring a protein or a veggie, or you can provide everything and just get help prepping and cooking lots of meals.

:pretzel: Don’t forget snacks. Protein balls, mini muffins, brownies with flaxseed, etc. These are great for breast milk supply and to thaw and grab when your feeling snacky.

I love your idea! Unfortunately, I didn’t have anyone to help me as I moved and don’t have family or friends. But, I did make a ton of chili and split pea soup while I was pregnant. I also bought some of the Costco meals and froze them. The best baby shower gift I got was a gift card for DoorDash.

My doula actually taught me to make this lemon chicken soup by boiling a whole chicken taking half the chicken out and bones then making chicken salad with half and then you also have a healing collagen rich soup as well which is fantastic for postpartum
