Mom and More - the Athlete

Hello fellow mommas! What makes me feel like myself is working out, strength training and running. I did all of those the 9 months I was pregnant, even on the day I was induced. Being active has been my life since I was a baby. I loved swimming and that love developed into other sports, competitions and personal training others. I lost that love once I had my first baby (she is now 15 months old). I dedicated my time to caring for her and working from home full time. I didn’t have time for myself. I felt lost. When I got pregnancy the second time, I miscarried at 12 weeks (July 2026). My OB gave me 2 weeks off from work to physically and mentally recover. I used that time to get back into my workout routine. I did - hard - and I feel like my old self again! I take the baby for jogs; we love swimming together; she may even catch a glimpse of the Chicago Bears playing football. I share my love of athletics with her.

I am fairly new to the Momcozy Community. I discovered the Momcozy Community after testing out Momcozy products before they become available on the market. I loved the products I was testing that I decided why not be part of the community of moms who also love Momcozy.

My most memorable moment on Momcozy was a post that @Jessica2 shared with me. I am preparing to leave my job in December to be a stay-at-home mom. I love working and I dedicate my working life to helping others as a police officer. She explained that is very similar and knows how I feel. With some exchanges back and forth, her support comforted me that other moms also find it difficult to leave a job of helping others. The new job is helping and teaching our child.

What “MomAndMore” means to me is that it celebrates the love, strength, and care that come with being a mom, while also making space for her dreams, identity, creativity, friendships, career, rest, and personal growth. A mom can be nurturing and ambitious, exhausted and joyful, selfless and still deserving of time for herself.

In short: motherhood is a meaningful part of who she is—but it is never all that she is. momandmore

Sorry for your loss mama. Transitioning from serving as a police officer to staying home with your little one in December will be a big chapter change, but teaching and guiding your child is truly such rewarding work. So glad to have you in the community! :growing_heart: beautiful photo! Hugs :people_hugging:

I am soooooo happy we were able to help each other out!! I love it :smiling_face_with_three_hearts:

Miscarriages are so awful! I’m so glad you were able to get time off work. I had one in 2024 and didn’t get time off and ended up quitting cause I thought it was ridiculous… they gave me one day for a d&c but then needed me back the next day! We’re so glad to have you here and seeing how active you are makes me want to be better myself!!! I

I love this so much! It’s so important to remember that being a mom doesn’t mean we have to lose the parts of ourselves that make us who we are. I’m glad you were able to find your love for fitness again and now get to share that with your daughter. And I love what you said about MomAndMore, because moms can be so many things at once. :heart_hands:t4:

I am sorry you experienced that! I also had the D&C surgery. It’s so emotional! I understand that a business is a business, but why lose a good employee? Businesses need to be more compassionate.

Thank you for sharing your story. I had a loss just after 12 weeks and it was really hard. Getting as much to yourself was important and I’m happy your ob helped with getting you some time (although never enough)

@Jessica2 is so special too :two_hearts:

I loved our conversation also! I appreciate the support. In church, the verse was from Colossians 3:23 “Whatever you do, work at it with all your heart, as working for the Lord, not for human masters.” I know many woman cannot stay at home and it’s sad that society doesn’t allow that. But I needed that verse to know that being at home will be good.

Thank you! I am also hoping she becomes an athlete. lol. My husband wants her in band.

Thank you so much for your support, Momma :smiling_face_with_three_hearts:
