One thing I wish I had known earlier is that you don’t have to stick to just one breast pump.
In the beginning, I only used a traditional pump. It does have a better suction power, but sit still in front of the pump was exhausting. I couldn’t hold my baby, eat, or get anything done while pumping.
Later, I started using the Momcozy M5 as well, and it made a huge difference. Sometimes I still use my wall pump when I have time and also want to finish a session quickly, but the M5 is perfect when I’m busy around the house or taking care of my baby. Having both options has made pumping much more manageable.
My biggest practical tip is to use the right pump for the right situation. A traditional pump can save time when efficiency matters, for example, if you need to go outside soon, you could use a traditional pump for just 15 minutes get still get a good amount and then store the milk in refrigerator. A wearable pump gives you the freedom to keep living your life, for example, on weekend mornings, you can wear Momcozy M5 and brush teeth, eat breakfast and then play with the baby. That simple combination made my pumping journey so much less stressful.
This is such fantastic advice! Realizing you don’t have to pick just one pump style and can use a traditional wall pump alongside a wearable like the M5 is a total game-changer. I love love love my M5!! Having that flexibility saves so much mental energy!
Yes, I agree. Some pumps are better for different situations. I personally will always stick to a wearable prompt because I don’t like being in one place for a certain period of time. I like to be very active, but I am curious about the M5 because I’ve heard many moms talk about it so I may look into that in the future. Thank you so much for posting this.
At the beginning I thought I can survive with wall pump and it is covered by my insurance, so I don’t need to pay extra But later on I found taking care of baby does not always allow me to sit in front of the table and pump for multiple times a day. Never regret to have M5
It depends.. My friend who recommends M5 to me can get even more milk than Spectra…But she also cannot get any milk when using other brand wearable. But to me, I need to add 15 minutes for wearable pumps compared to wall pumps because I can massage my breast when using wall pumps. Maybe you can try M5 if you have budget. Unless you try, you don’t know which one is more suitable for you.
Haha I almost gave up pumping 3 month pp and then my friend recommend M5 to me. Now it’s 8 month, I’m still pumping even if I’ve backed to work. So great~
