Hi, mamas! This is my first-time nursing/pumping journey. I am struggling today with pumping. I am seeing a dip in the output. Can I skip a session or keep pumping? I just very hard today.
Take a deep breath, you’ve got this momma! I wouldn’t skip a pumping session because it affects your output. Make sure you are drinking plenty of water and eating enough protein and have you checked your flange size? It makes a huge difference if you don’t have the correct size. You can also try power pumping
Thank you for this!! I’m going to also save these to my camera roll ![]()
Hi mama!! If you’re experiencing a dip in your supply I would definitely keep to a consistent schedule. Sometimes skipping pumps and pushing them back can also cause your supply to dip. I’m sorry you’re having a hard time today. What helped me most was to relax during my sessions.
Have you checked your flange size recently? Changed your pump parts? How is your hydration, calorie, protein, and electrolyte intake?
Your welcome ![]()
Definitely try not to skip sessions, we want to increase supply by telling your body baby is eating more often which is where the pumping every 2-3 hours comes into play. Do you have the correct flange size? What kind of pump are you using? How often are you pumping? Have you changed pump parts? Drinking a gallon of water a day with added electrolytes?
Thank you for the information
It’s going to be okay! Dips and ups happen and it can be so hard sometimes !! You got this! Trust me there have been so many Mental breakdowns on my end when it comes to my pumping journey but it is just the trials and tribulations of it all! It will be okay you are doing amazing
Your welcome I hope it helps!
If you are seeing a dip I would stay consistent. If your period has returned that could cause a dip too
