🎀 My Supply Tips 🎀

I hardly ever post about this because idk I feel everyone has their own personal path to increasing supply but i just left this comment on another mamas post and thought shoot what the heck I’ll share with everyone so here we go

:sparkles:First it’s all about supply and demand you increase the demand you increase the supply so staying consistent and pumping every 2/3 hours helps

:sparkles:Measure your nipples and make sure you have the correct flange size, don’t be shy to try different types too

:sparkles: power pumping I like to do mine early in the morning when my prolactin levels are highest (Pro Tip): take a hot shower first it wakes me up and the warmth of the shower brings on my milk so much :shower: :woman_in_steamy_room: :lotus:

:sparkles:if you are like me and nurse I nursed then pumped right after wards

:droplet: HYDRATION HYDRATION HYDRATION :droplet:

drink lots of water and electrolytes I love body armor and coconut water personally

Then eating good foods like salmon :fish: and avocado, :avocado:. oats flax!!! Veggies :carrot: :broccoli:

:sparkles:also side note :memo:: I make a protein shake every day I use ritual’s prenatal and postnatal shake because it has choline but use whatever you want then I mix some oat milk and flax milk brewers yeast and I crush up those munchkin lactation cookies and pour that in for a super lactation boost cookies and cream shake :cookie:

:sparkles:If you want to go down the supplement route this one is up for debate but I swear by moringa leaf and brewers yeast

{with all this being said the ABSOLUTE BEST advice I could possibly give is seek out a lactation consultant I wish I had seen one sooner and look around for local lactation lounges and group meet ups they helped me immensely}

:tada: HAPPY BREASTFEEDING MONTH :tada:

These are some really good tips! The supply and demand thing is so true. I still try to nurse my daughter as often as possible at 19 months old. It’s funny cause I will ask her if she wants boob through the day. Sometimes she comes right to me, sometimes she says “no no” and shakes her finger at me. When a breast is engorged, I flop that tit out, sit on the floor, and bounce it around, and she normally at least gives me a 5 second pity suckle! :joy:
