I can’t stand living in a neighborhood. I grew up in the city, and once I experienced living in the country, I didn’t want to go back! If my mother in law didn’t need care, we would definitely be living out at our property. It’s technically in the mountains, but not super mountainy if that makes sense. I miss living in the woods and the view of our pond. More than anything, I miss our dogs. Our 2 great pyrnees still stay there because we couldn’t bring them to the rental we are in. My brother-in-law lives on the same property, so he takes care of them. We don’t see them as often as I’d like because it’s a 45 minute drive. They absolutely adore my daughter, and she is so crazy about them! She cries every time we leave!

No that makes so much sense we are in the foothills which is like the base of the mountains :snow_capped_mountain: and we also have a pond and we also have a Great Pyrenees! Do we live at the same place ???

But it’s okay it’s not going anywhere and you are doing the right thing for your family right now!!! She needs care and it’s amazing you help with that!! Honestly I think that is such a wonderful thing to do and someday you will return to the beautiful country and your beautiful doggies also something I heard is you can’t take a Great Pyrenees out of its home one it’s established they are meant to protect their land and livestock so once they have claimed a spot it’s like that’s what they live for is that area if that makes any sense

Great pyrnees are the best! They are actually the first breed of dog I’ve ever researched. I looked up dogs based by temperament instead of cuteness before we got our first pyr puppy. They’re an all in one package! I definitely know what you mean about their land being their main concern. They stayed at my brother-in-law’s house when we were out of town once, and they broke out to run back home!

I know we will be back out there one day. I long for the country! But at the same time I don’t want my mother-in-law to die, so it makes me feel kind of guilty sometimes because that is when we will be able to move back out there

The country isn’t going anywhere !!! Stay with her and just enjoy your time!!

And also same here the Great Pyrenees is the first dog I ever really deeply looked into and it just fit our lifestyle sooo well!! They are just so great we wanted one for years and then my partner surprised me a year ago with our precious Dewey he’s a goober but we love him

They are such amazing dogs! Giant loyal lap dogs with a big heart! And tumbleweeds of dog fur everywhere! My first, Max, is a great pyrnees and Australian shepherd mix. He’s primarily mine and is named after a heating blanket brand lol. You could say he’s a hot dog!! :joy: Angel is pure great pyrnees, and my husband got her for me when I lost a pregnancy. She was supposed to be mine, but she took to my husband more. We got her in Heavener, OK, so Angel seemed fitting.

Oh my gosh they are freaking precious and now I’m crying cause your husband is so sweet for that!!! Those are both fantastic names and don’t get me started on the hair haha my partner wants me to start spinning wool and by wool he means our dogs mountain of fur!! Hahahaha we named ours Dewey after his childhood stuffed polar bear
