Hi! I’m looking for tips on proper park etiquette. My daughter is almost 19 months old. When we go to the park, she walks up to other kids and stands as close to them as possible, and just stares at them. I can tell it makes them uncomfortable, so I just pick her up and move her away from them. I don’t want her to think she’s not allowed to socialize. I’m a first time mom, and have no idea what I’m doing here. What is the best way to teach her how to approach other kids?

I’m curious too. Mine shys away and then also lets everyone push her or go in front of her. She kinda freezes

It’s so hard to know what to do! In your case, would you go tell the kid that pushed her that pushing isn’t okay and put your daughter back in front? I’m going to have to prepare myself in case that happens

Ohhhh boy do I have no idea either but this is something I’d love to know as well!! When we play with other babys my son just freezes and stares too

It makes me so nervous! I don’t want her to walk up to some kid and end up getting pushed down because she got too close. I’m at the point where I really need to find a moms group so I can socialize her or at least have her around kids her age so they’re all in it together lol

Yes that’s what I have been doing and I think I it helps a lot and they are a wealth of knowledge on socializing too since some of them have older kids as well and have been through it before

i got lucky! My only mom friend at the time who grew up here knew about it!! I would have never found it on my own I don’t think

I hope you find something soon!!! Look in your local news paper I know sounds ancient but they post ours in our newspapers
