Nighttime can look so different as your baby grows. Whether you’re waking for night feeds, pumping, checking the monitor, helping with a sleep transition, or simply trying to soothe a baby who woke up unexpectedly, give yourself permission to follow your baby’s needs instead of comparing your night to someone else’s.
Pay attention to their nighttime patterns. Are they waking around the same time? Are they genuinely hungry, needing comfort, or having trouble settling? Sometimes noticing these little patterns can help you understand what your baby needs and make nights feel a little less overwhelming.
And if your baby needs you at 2 a.m., remember: you are not creating a bad habit by comforting your baby. A cuddle, feeding, rocking, or simply being there can be exactly what they need in that moment.
You don’t have to have the perfect nighttime routine. You’re learning your baby, adjusting as they grow, and doing your best through every season. ![]()
