If anyone deals with or have ever dealt with someone with both dementia and Alzheimer’s or one of them, I salute you. My grandma’s husband has it and it is very rough. To see her in her age go through it is very sad. She expects him to still know a lot of things and he just doesn’t. And sadly it will only get worse. It’s literally nothing anyone can do. But pray

I’m so sorry to hear about this. We live with my mother in law, and she has early Alzheimer’s. It’s hard because this once independent, outgoing woman now stays mostly in her room watching tv and sleeping all day, and she needs a lot of care. She’s losing her short term memory and constantly talks about the past. We can’t stand the thought of putting her in a nursing home, so we will live with her for the rest of her life. She is just the sweetest little lady, and she is so happy that she gets to see her granddaughter every day. Sending prayers your way! ![]()
It’s one of the most unfair things that people a loved ones have to go through. ![]()
I am so sorry you are going through this we went through it with my grandpa and my husbands grandma years ago and now we are going through it with both of our grandmas that we have left and it is so heartbreaking and unfair.
Prayers to you as well love. I wish it was that easy with my grandpa. He’s opposite. He gets very agitated, wonders all throughout the house, tries to always go outside, or walk through the walls. Lately he’s been falling down which it’s very hard to get him up. I’m pregnant and my grandma is old so it’s tough. He curses people out. Pees in the bathroom sink instead of toilet, refuses medicine. The list goes on, he’s in like the last stage of Alzheimer’s so it’s pretty bad. My grandma is mentally drained and stressed, I’m not sure how much longer she can put up with It.
Yes it’s no joke, especially being in the last stage of it.
It truly is, prayers to you as well. It’s just so messed up that there’s nothing anyone can do.
I’m so sorry to hear it’s late stage Alzheimer’s. I used to work at nursing homes, so I know exactly what you’re talking about. It’s so hard to take care of someone who is going through this, and the mental burnout is real. Your grandma is one tough woman!!
I know it breaks my heart no one should have to go through that or watch their loved ones go through it! I’m praying for you!
Yes ma’am it’s a lot. Thank you so much
and bravo to you for working in that environment. ![]()
