I swear my breastfeeding journey was going to be like the movies easy and simple. Was I severely delusional 
. My very first pregnancy, breastfeeding, pumping journey honestly was so traumatic. My baby was a preemie 4 pounds so she couldn’t latch. I also found out I had flat nipples (at 2 months pp). Then I grabbed the first pump I seen. Haven’t done any research i absolutely hated those pumps I got. Yes so all of those is what I wish I knew before pregnancy. I was prepared for my second baby . Here’s my preemie baby now almost 2 years old

I was so overwhelmed with my first and had no clue what to do! I definitely learned as I went and each journey has gotten better

Oh man it was a rough start! I’m so happy it’s gotten better and even better with these momcozy communities

I like to describe my breastfeeding and pumping experience as a full time job but without training. It does get easier.

Yes I feel the same! The way media portrays it and sometimes people who have rose colored glasses possibly 
But no I’m happy when it goes smoothly for some but I think a lot is trial and error

Aww your baby is such a cutie! Either my first I also went through a lot of trial and error by my second I was a bit more knowledgeable
Aww what a cutie! I’m sorry it didn’t work out the way you planned. That is so frustrating. It’s sad how doctors don’t inform us or at least gives us some paperwork to read about breastfeeding to prepare us for everything that could happen. I think so many women would have been successful that quit early because the doctor was like oh well guess you gotta use formula now. Not that formula is bad. I’m just saying if you want to breastfeed, you should be given all the tools to do so

Yes. I hate how they make it look like how easy it is to which for some it is not for all
It really is trial and error. Just like with the positioning of breastfeeding. So many doctors/nurses wanted me to football hold and that just didn’t work for me
Literally this. When she wouldn’t latch that’s the first thing they said oh we will get formula. Instead of helping very frustrating

I agree! I thought the only pumps out there was the spectra and I quite because I didn’t want to be tied to a pump

I really wish there was more conversation around breast pumps & finding the right ones for specific nipples. I have elastic nipples & it took me a while to find a pump / flange setup that actually worked well for me. It’s something so many moms experience, but it’s not talked about enough. Having that knowledge beforehand would make such a difference for new moms. Isn’t it crazy how much they grow you couldn’t even tell our babies were Nicu babies!!

They grow so fast! And there isn’t a lot of information. All I heard at the hospital was hold the baby this way. Make your breast into a burger and that was it lol!! I really wish they went more in depth of the different shapes and sizes and different nipple lengths you know
