I wish I knew more about “Pumping” with my first baby. My son was born with a tongue tie, it wasn’t severe but he had trouble latching. I breastfeed about 25% and pumped 75%. As a first time mom I didn’t know much about hospital grade pumps or wearable pumps. I opted for a wearable pump because I knew I would be returning to work and with 12 hr shifts I needed a pump that would be easy to carry around. My first 2-3 weeks I pumped with a hands free wearable pump and struggled not knowing that my problem was the flange size. I scrambled to buy a hospital grade pump on Fb marketplace and it worked but now I know that was not the best pump. My pumping journey only lasted 7 months and my freezer stash kept my baby feed up until 10 months. The last 2 months we used formula. This time around with my second baby I am more educated and have great pumps. Really hoping to make it the full 12 months this time around.

Yes I had kinda a similar thing happen, my baby was born premature so she couldn’t latch because of how small she was. I just got the first pump I saw. I wish I’ve don’t more research. I really wish someone helped me!

I wish moms were educated more about pumps and breastfeeding it would make such a huge difference in our breastfeeding/pumping journey.

Yes! I couldn’t agree more, I wish they made extra time during a appt or a extra prenatal appt if you choose to breastfeed
