Shopping with the kids is so challenging. We usually set a timer for the toy section it definitely helps when we have a time limit. There is no avoiding it. My son has toy radar and will somehow manage to find it. My trick is letting them know before entering if they get a toy or not that day. It definitely helps set them up for success.

With my older two we used to go to the toy isle first and they found somthing that would Entertain them while we were shopping and by the time we were done they got tired of it and we could put it back but if they were still really interested in it we would get it

I do the exact same thing @Rachel5 said! We find a toy to play with, and are usually done with it by the time we are getting ready to check out. It’s free entertainment for them while you shop!

Yes we tend to do that unless it’s something that my 5 year old won’t let go of. He will think he’s getting it. Sometimes we trade it for a treat. It works so well

Yes we got that. And I ordered 2 more. I couldn’t say no to $5. And I can’t have my oldest and niece without one either. He does think it’s also a vaccum and will light savor while I’m vaccuming

These are some good ideas! Our girls think they get something EVERY time cause grandma and grandpa (on both sides) have them seasoned that they always need to get a treat everytime we go to a store

My son was the same. That’s why I let him know beforehand and have to constantly remind him. It definitely helps with the tantrums tho. If he really wants something we will take a picture for Christmas or Bday
Haha I wish. I’ve tried that and he jumps out of the cart just to get to the toys.
