One tip that I want to share today is starting a simple bedtime routine early, even before baby was sleeping for long stretches.
When my baby is 1-2 month, I thought a bedtime routine wouldn’t matter because she still woke up every few hours. However, someone told me it is better to create familiar sleep cues earlier. Then we kept things calm and predictable: dimming the lights, changing into pajamas, use white noise machine, etc.
It’s not about preventing night wake up. But now bedtime became much smoother and less stressful for us. My little one now sleeps every noon from like 1-3 p.m. and every night from 9 p.m. to 6 a.m. with one night feeding. Try to keep it simple and consistent.
A good sleep routine is healthy for baby and also helps us~~
