Every night feels like a battle. My toddler gets upset at the thought of bed, and at the same time my infant is struggling too.
He has reflux, and nights are the hardest. He’s okay when upright, but after night feeds, the second I lay him down he’s uncomfortable and crying.
Those quiet overnight moments—when I’m feeding him, exhausted—are when I wish for anything that could make it just a little easier… even something as simple as more comfort, more support, or better tools to get through the night.
Right now it just feels like I’m being pulled in two directions.
I feel this! My 6 year old will not take naps and hasn’t since she was 2 and she doesn’t want to go to bed at night it is a struggle to get her to go to sleep I dread bed time most nights because I know it will be the same and it is worse if she gets over tired. If my son (3) goes to bed too early he wakes up in the middle of the night at this point I think the baby sleeps better than them
My baby sleeps so well especially in comparison to my daughter. I dread naps and bedtime , it is by far the worst part of the day. I hope soon you can turn the corner!!!
That sounds rough! I don’t know if youve tried this, but this is what I used to do with my daughter when she had really bad reflux like that. I kept her upright for 20 minutes burping her. I would pat her on the back or stand up to rock and bounce to get those burps out. It worked most of the time. It takes forever, but not as long as having to pick your baby back up again and again to get them to sleep. I’m sorry your little one is dealing with so much gas pain. I can’t stand seeing them in pain like that. It’s such a hard stage to go through.
Thank you! He gets so upset to even hold (and is also very big at 24 lbs). I think we may start Pepcid soon. I didn’t want meds if we didn’t need them but I think the reflux may burn. I had some myself today and was uncomfortable for hours!
