I’m still me, but I think an even better version of me.
I’m 28, it’s not my birthday or anything like that, but my husband got me my 1st book ever. I never wanted to read books because of how long they are made and all the details. It’s beautiful, but it’s soooo longgggg (I guess you can call me lazy ) Mind you, I worked at the library when I was in college and while I worked there, I’d start reading a book and, if not halfway, I was already reading the ending of the book, lollll! I know it’s dumb, but I’ve always just wanted to watch the film version of the book. I know it’s nothing on par with it, but it’s just how my life has to be, easy like that! Haha! I know most of you won’t relate, but I just thought I’d share it here. Here’s a photo of me reading chapter 8 while pumping using Momcozy M5 level 9 stimulation mode.
I totally get the reading the ending while halfway through thing, haha! I did that alllll the time when I was younger! But I love to hear that you’re giving reading another go! There’s a season of life for everything–youve just entered the season that allows reading, it seems! If you’d like any book recs, let me know! I, too, frequent a library for work, haha!
Amazing pump session! I was never big on reading, my attention span is too little but I’m so glad you were able to pick up on something new! Do you guys have a local book store near you?
Lol same!! Thank you and yes, we live downtown, so we’re honestly within walking distance of almost everything. We also have a lot of libraries that let us borrow up to 50 books at a time, and you can keep them as long as you want unless someone else requests the book. If that happens, they’ll just email you.
That’s so awesome you are getting into reading! Try to think of it like binge watching a show. It just keeps going on and on, but you can pause and come back to it when you’re ready. I will say I have a hard time finding a good book. If I do read, it’s usually to learn about something. It’s hard to find a good story
Let me know how it goes haha I think it’s more challenging to do it now because how kids can be (blaming it to my kids even tho, I never really read before them)
It is. This one I’m reading, is based on the relationship between David and Jonathan from the Bible. Some people interpret it as a gay relationship, they even made a gay book out of it. But it’s not. Maybe that’s just how they understand it. But for me, it feels deeper than that, which is why I struggle sometimes to read. I keep thinking about the different ways people interpret things and how one person can understand something completely differently from another. And I take forever to finish the book lol. So I end up not reading at all. I wonder what kind of stories are you into?
That sounds like a good book! I enjoy reading things based on the Bible too. I enjoy researching the Bible actually. It’s fun to figure out what actually happened because they had such limited vocabulary back then. It’s sad how people take things from the Bible and twist them. It’s highly unlikely that anyone in the Bible was gay simply because it was not accepted in their religion/culture and if there were gay people, they were secretive for fear of being killed. They wouldn’t have written a story about it. It’s definitely interesting how people come up with different interpretations though!!
The last story book I enjoyed reading was the Harry Potter series. That was back in high school lol
I agree! Whenever it comes to books, the conversation is never gonna stop haha. And nothing beats Harry Potter lolll. Also, no, I still haven’t read all the books, and I don’t think I plan to, but I’ve watched all the movies over and over again though.
I love Brandon Sanderson’s book Warbreaker; it’s a good fantasy read if that strikes your fancy! If not I also really enjoyed Pierce Brown’s Red Rising which is a great sci-fi read. Or if you’re looking for a more standard romance/regency vibe I enjoyed Sarah M Eden’s Lady and the Highwayman.
