I would have a gallon of water by my bed, cup, snacks in containers, Momcozy body pillow, belly oil for itchiness, colostrum collectors, milk cooler to store them in if I collected it at night, birth ball to help with pain

I got my room ready a month before baby came so I didn’t have to worry about getting up in the middle of the night. I had a nightstand, bookcase and rolling caddy next to my bed prepared with everything I needed! I had a gallon of water by my bed, plastic container of snacks, drinking cup, diapers/wipes, onesies, burp rags, grooming kit, moveable bassinet, hand pump, extra bottles, milk bags, lunch bag with ice packs, 3 different milk collector cups, milk cooler so I didn’t have to get up late at night, ziplocks bags to store used pump parts til morning, wearable pump, wall pump to rotate, pump wipes, caddy for my diaper necessities and plastic caddy for my pumping necessities, tons of breast pads,5 nursing bras, nipple butter/balm, baby monitor, nightlight, fan rotating at all times. I also kept pee pads near by to lay under baby incase he decided to shoot poop or randomly pee lol I had to change my sheets so many times before I thought of this, small trash bags to throw blowout messes in. Swaddles/thin swaddle blankets, boppy pillow.

I recommend a bottle washer if it’s in the budget if not forsure sterilizer/dryer to have pump parts/bottles ready in 30 minutes to an hour and you can keep the rotation going til everything is done. That was a major life saver. I didn’t care for the cute bottle display, I put everything in small tote bins so no little pieces got lost.

Bathroom care

I had pop up bins full of adult diapers, pads, xl wipes, peri bottle, sitz bath care, wound sprays, ice packs, witch hazel pads. Anything extra from the hospital I stuffed in there just incase.
Little extra for C-Section mommas ![]()
- I got a small cheap bed rail to help me pull myself up, back pillow, kept my body pillow to help me sleep somewhat inclined. I could not lay down flat the first week or so. Boppy to feed baby on for extra support. I used a big shower towel rolled up to put pressure on my area when I needed to sneeze or cough. Laughing to because that area is super tender. I asked for help to watch baby since I took a little longer in the shower. I wasn’t able to move fast enough when baby cried or I would wheel the bassinet in the bathroom with me. I used a shower chair the first few days when I was medicated or needed a little extra support when I had to bed down to wash my legs/feet. I had a body scrub with handle. I would use a blow dryer on cool setting to dry my incision area a little extra to avoid an infection. Look for c section friendly underwear and leggings so it doesn’t rub or puts pressure in that area. Plan not to carry anything for atleast 3 weeks! I tore my incision open lifting my baby in his car seat! Take care of yourself even if you do feel good, don’t make the healing process worse or rush it. Loose pants are perfect til you heal.
- Still take your prenatals and iron pills after birth! You’ll need all those vitamins and energy back.
