Supporting the mom

One thing I hope this Support List doesn’t leave out is…

that breastfeeding support should include supporting the mom, too. :white_heart:

No one warned me how easy it is to measure your success by ounces, minutes, feeds, pumping sessions, or whether your baby latched “perfectly.” But your baby doesn’t measure your love in ounces.

Some days you’ll feel proud. Some days you’ll cry while pumping. Some days you’ll feel like you finally figured it out, and the next day you’ll feel completely lost again.

What helped me most was reminding myself: that feeding my baby is not all about performance.

Whether you breastfeed, pump, supplement, combo feed, or change your plan along the way, you deserve support without guilt. You deserve someone to bring you water, hold the baby while you pump, tell you to rest, or simply say, “You’re doing enough.”

Because sometimes the support a mom needs most isn’t just breastfeeding tips on how to do better.

It’s a reminder that she matters, too. :heart_hands:t2:

Supporting the mom is just as crucial as supporting the feed. Thank you for sharing such an empowering and gentle reminder! :cherry_blossom:
