This summer , I’m hoping for more quality time with my husband and my son .
Today, my son is officially 11 months old, and time has just flown by. This summer will bring several challenges. I need to find a daycare and get my son ready for that routine. That means cutting back on breastfeeding, pumping more, and adapting his schedule to our work hours… I truly hope we have a wonderful family vacation and that these changes won’t be too hard on us.
If you have any tips on how to cut back on breastfeeding, please feel free to share them.
Start with one feeding at a time so that you won’t get mastitis I would start with the feeding your baby is least interested in and give them a bottle of frozen milk, formula, or cows milk if you are switching to that. I would then wait a week or so before dropping another session to prevent engorgement. If your breasts feel uncomfortably full pump or hand express enough milk to relieve the pressure but don’t empty the breast entirely. Dropping the feeds signals your body to make less milk over time and doing it slowly is better for you.
I always mix in breastmilk with the cows milk until their stomach adjusts and to get them use to cold milk hope this helps
