What I could use is a bigger house! My bedroom has so much furniture that you can’t even see the walls because I have my furniture and my baby’s furniture in there. The living room has so many toys that I need more space to keep them all. There’s a lot of furniture in the living room, but I can’t remove any of it because it’s not my house. I can’t stand clutter! I do my best to keep it clean. As you can see from the pictures, it’s clean for the moment and looks okay, but that’s because my daughter is asleep and hasn’t dragged all the toys out yet. The play tunnel hasnt been brought back out yet either. I temporarily block off the front door with the cat stand tower to make it feel roomier. If I had it my way, we’d get rid of the cat tower, white chair, and copper pot full of pillows. Don’t mind the stuffed ram hanging from the handle of the copper pot. He’s there so my daughter can’t bang the handle
I love that my mother-in-law is letting us stay with her during our time of need, but man, I can’t wait to have a place of our own again!
I hope you find the best house to fit you all comfortably!! This is real! I feel like the walls are closing in and we need to get rid of a lot of our furniture too or get a bigger house hahaha
Thanks! And you too! It’s going to take awhile to finish building our house out in the country, but we will get there. We still have years to go. I’m hoping to turn the guest bedroom into a playroom for her. I’ve got to get her out of this living room and away from the tv. She has started doing her fake cry more often lately. Like she will knock a toy over and start crying for attention. I feel so horrible! How did I let the tv situation get so out of control? She seemed so happy, but is begging for my attention now. So it’s time to cut out screen time and play with her more. I’ll have to figure out some fun activities to do with her. I just feel so bad because I didn’t realize how it was affecting her
Don’t blame yourself too much mama! You are doing your best and life happens!!! You see what you need and she needs and you recognize that which proves how amazing of a mother you are!!! there are tons of things you can research my friend has a book on crafts that you can make with anything around the house , homemade play dough, nature involved crafts and activities! I need to buy that book or just google it because I’m in the same boat as you we play all the time in the living room and it’s next to the tv which when he was small I would watch movies all the time to keep me awake hahah I get you and totally understand
Thank you for saying that! Well today was day 1 of very little tv time…like maybe an hour total. It was a bit rough…she threw several temper tantrums. But I was easily able to distract her with a toy or take her outside to play. It should get better with time. But omg these tantrums are something else! So dramatic!
I’m definitely going to have to do some research on crafts and activities for her
I totally under understand and I’m sorry I didn’t see your response sooner!!! You got this!! It’s just a phase and don’t beat yourself up over it either !!! This sounds totally normal to me but I also don’t have much experience with toddlers other than my god son and he doesn’t even have much screen time and still throw a lot of tantrums so it sounds like just big emotions learning how to navigate all that
Well that makes me feel a little better knowing it’s normal for this age. Gosh, are the terrible twos starting early?! ![]()
Girl….every single day, I trip on something and say we need a bigger house. And then life takes over and we never even get to really think about. I’d love to move and have a bigger house but at the same time a move would be such a chaos moment too!!
That’s so true! It would be such a task to move!
It very well could be!!! I fear for the toddler tantrums
you just gotta handle them as they come.
So far distracting her seems to work the best. But yeah, tantrums can be tricky ![]()
Copy that
distract if I can ![]()
