When do moms typically pack their hospital bag?

I have two months left to go, and I’m wondering if I should start packing soon? I am due Sept 15th but I have a strong feeling she might come sooner!! This is my first time breastfeeding and pumping. Should I also bring my pump?

I was scared by a very low baby at a 8 ish month appt and packed my bag right after! Of course he ended up coming late, but better to be prepared than not.

I can’t speak for all hospitals but I didn’t bring my pump and they had medela manual pumps I got to keep and medela electric pumps I got to use while there. They will probably have options for if you need to pump!

I thought about it daily but didn’t until the day of my induction so 39 weeks. People say to bring your pump but I used the hospitals and it was the best. Bring your breastfeeding pillow though

I packed mine at 35 weeks with my first 2 and just added to it if I needed too. With the last one I packed it the night before my 38 week appointment just incase I needed it :joy:

Hi! Welcome to the Momcozy community! It’s never too soon to prepare your hospital bag! I wouldn’t worry about bringing your breast pump; it’s usually recommended to wait a few weeks to use it so you can get breastfeeding established first. But if it makes you feel more prepared (like what if you have a NICU situation?), then bring it. The hospital will provide you with one if you need it too. Honestly, the only thing I used from my hospital bag as an overpacker was my stroller fan, snack foods, my pillow, a portable full size cushioned changing pad, and the baby footie pajmas(I had 2 of each in size preemie, newborn, and size 1 because you don’t know how big your baby will be and that hospital is cold!) I wish I had brought a nursing pillow. Baby will be nursing A Lot, and your arms will get tired

Sooner rather than later! My MFM office sent me to the hospital and they decided to deliver me that same day at 37+1. I walked into L&D with just a wristlet

Wish my first I didn’t pack one until the day before my induction, my second was packed the night before I went into labor (I remember still having to grab some stuff in between contractions, my 3rd I had packed by 34weeks , my 4th and 5th they were packed at 36weeks.

I was a bit last minute with all of them lol

I am so serious about all of this I wish I had the belly band and nursing kit!!!

I usually pack gradually. I usually start packing about 30 weeks and then keep packing until my induction.
