One support tip I would add for moms during postpartum is to give your body wayyy more grace than you think it deserves. I feel like we spend so much time preparing for the baby that nobody really prepares us for how different our own body can feel afterward.
I’m only 9 weeks postpartum and I had a C-section, so there have definitely been moments where I’ve looked at myself and thought “wow… my body really went thru ALOT.” And then I remember that it literally carried THREE babies. After everything my body has been thru, I’m trying really hard not to look at it like something that needs to immediately go back to normal.
For me, becoming a mom came after 4 years of fertility treatments and 12 losses. So when I look at my belly now, I honestly see something completely different than I probably would have before. This body carried my three little girls after I spent years wondering if I would ever get to hold my babies.
That doesnt mean every day I feel amazing or confident. Some days I’m tired, sore and just over it
But I’m learning that postpartum recovery isnt a race. Your body doesnt need to look a certain way to prove you’re healing. Be gentle with yourself mama. You’ve already done something HUGE. ![]()
