Avoiding Diaper Rash

My most helpful tip to any mom is how I avoid diaper rash. I’ve done this with both my babies and it has helped keep them from getting a diaper rash, especially in the first few months when their skin is very sensitive. What I do is dampen a washcloth, wring it and place it in the wipe warmer. I use the washcloth for next diaper change and with it being warm, it helps my baby cry less and the damp washcloth wipes poop off much better than any wipe I’ve ever used, therefore I take less time changing the diaper. The lotion/cream/moisturizer you use once baby’s bottom is clean is a personal choice; I use vitamin E oil on my baby. Pro tip: if my baby doesn’t spit up after a feed, I use the same burp cloth as the cloth that I’ll use to wipe baby clean on the next diaper change. Doing this does can create more laundry, so personally, I wash off excess poop from the washcloth after each diaper change before throwing it in the washer.
