I am a mom of two beautiful kids. I have a 3 years old toddler boy and 3 months old baby girl. My first breastfeeding journey was hard, I hardly made enough milk for my baby, I pumped exclusively though. I learned so many things during my first breastfeeding journey. It was a bittersweet experience. My second breastfeeding journey going well so far. I am trying to do nursing and pumping both. I am happy this time, I knew I had to establish my supply in my earliest postpartum days. So I did that, though I feel tired with a toddler running around and a baby needing to hold frequently.
I wish someone had told me how to establish supply early on because that would have truly been a game changer
Yes, same goes with me. With my first one I didn’t know, I had to do that. My baby didn’t latch so I pumped but I didn’t know that I had to pump every 2/3 hours. I knew afterwards when it was too late. I pumped every 3 hours then, still didn’t make enough. This time i was determined to breastfeed only, so I tried to pumped and nursed both to establish my supply even though I got tired.
I feel this so much!!!
With my first we didn’t have information like we do today and I am so glad mommas do now so they know what to expect and how to fix the problems they are facing with breastfeeding/pumping.
Balancing a toddler boy and a 3 month old baby while nursing AND pumping is superhero status! So happy to hear your second journey is going so much smoother. You’re doing an incredible job, mama! Hugssss
Yes! I also struggled my first journey and then my second seemed so much easier since I knew what I was doing that time around lol
My story is kind of the same so I hear you!! With my second I don’t think it was easier, but I felt like I knew what I had to do
