One support tip I would add for moms building their feeding routine is PLEASE dont let the number of ounces become your measurement of whether you’re a good mom. I know how easy it is to get caught up in it because pumping literally puts a number right in front of your face every single time ![]()
I’m an exclusive pumper and I happen to be an oversupplier, so my experience might look completely different from another mom’s. But even with a good supply, I’ve still had moments where I looked at a bottle and thought “is that really all I got?” It’s so easy to compare yourself to other moms without even realizing you’re doing it.
And especially with three babies, I’ve had to remind myself that my pumping journey doesnt have to look like anyone else’s. What works for one mama may be completely unrealistic for another. We all have different bodies, babies, schedules and circumstances.
So if you’re pumping 2 ounces, 5 ounces, 10 ounces or whatever your body gives you today… please remember YOU are more than that number. Your baby doesnt see ounces. They see their mama
And sometimes we really just need to hear that.
