I have been a mother for a very long time now with having two boy’s 14 years apart. My oldest is 15 years old and my youngest being almost 18 months. It has really shown me what my purpose is in life. Raising two boys in two completely seasons is so so unbelievably different not just for the obvious reasons of my kids being in different stages in their own lives but for me, as well. It has shown me how much motherhood can change you.
I was 19 years old when i had my first baby. We really have grown up together. He taught me so much about what it means to be a mother, and he has taught me motherhood doesn’t have to be perfect. It’s about being present, it’s about learning as you go, making mistakes, and trying again and loving your children through every version of themselves.
Now raising my youngest has given me the opportunity to experience motherhood all over again, but with a completely different perspective. I’m older, I’m more patient in some ways, more emotional in others and I appreciate the little moments so much more. Watching my oldest become a young man while watching my youngest discover the world has made me realize how quickly time really goes.
Motherhood has expanded my life by giving me a purpose bigger than myself! It has taught me patience, strength, unconditional love and that sometimes the smallest moments are the ones you remember forever. My boy’s have shaped me just as much as i have shaped them, I wouldn’t be the woman I am today without getting to be their mom!
