Motherhood Support Matters

#Motherhood Support Matters

Motherhood support matters because some days, it’s the only thing holding you together.

I’m a mom of 4, three boys and one girl—ranging from 7 years old down to 9 months. My days are loud, chaotic, and full of love, but also incredibly overwhelming. My husband works long hours, and when he’s home, he’s catching up on rest, so most of the parenting falls on me. And while I love my family more than anything, the truth is, I’m doing this largely on my own.

I stepped into motherhood in a way I never expected. When I married my husband, I also became a mom to his two children who had no mother figure. Around the same time, I had my first biological child, after being told I might never be able to have children. Since then, I’ve been blessed with two more boys. But those blessings came after deep loss, losing my brother, my best friend, and nearly losing my own life in an abusive relationship that left me fighting to relearn how to walk, talk, and live again.

So when I say motherhood is heavy, I mean it in every sense.

Recently, I found out my two year old son has a disability and will likely live with us for the rest of his life. I’m still processing that while trying to manage behaviors from the older kids that are now being picked up by the younger ones. It feels like I’m constantly trying to put out fires with no real help, no break, and no clear answers.

We don’t have family support. We don’t have a village. I’ve been searching for a church or a moms group, just something to remind me I’m not alone but right now, it’s just me, every day, figuring it out as I go.

Some days are so overwhelming, I feel like I’m at my breaking point. I want to be the best mom I can be, but I’m still learning every single day. I want my kids to feel loved in the way they need but sometimes I don’t know how to reach them, especially my daughter. It hurts feeling like nothing is working.

But I’m still here.

And I know I’m not the only mom who feels this way.

Motherhood isn’t meant to be done alone, and even the smallest forms of support, whether it’s a moment to breathe, a product that makes your day a little easier, or a reminder that someone sees you, can make a difference. That’s why motherhood support matters so much. Because behind every strong mom is a story no one fully sees.

I don’t need perfection. I don’t need all the answers.

I just need to be seen. Heard. Supported.

And if you’re a mom reading this and feeling the same way—I see you too. We’re doing our best, and that counts for more than we realize.

I’m so sorry to hear about the losses and the abuse you endured. I know all too well about abusive relationships…my ex was that way. I’m sad to hear you almost lost your life. No one should ever have to go through something like that.

Your kids sound like such a blessing, but I can understand it can be really difficult. I have a 24 year old step daughter with bipolar, a drinking problem, and an autistic son. I’m sorry to hear about your two year olds disability and hope things will get easier as you learn more about how to help him. Things can get pretty chaotic around here.My daughter is still pretty young, but hopefully won’t pick up on her older sisters behaviors. I hope you are able to find a church where you can meet some other moms, and create a better support system. No mama should have to go through everything alone, and I am happy to hear you are stepping outside your comfort zone.

Sending hugs!:hugs:

You are a warrior mama! You been through so much and came out the other side I can so happy you did too! But hearing your strength and courage is honestly inspiring and I’m glad you felt comfortable enough to share because if other moms or woman in general are reading this and maybe going through something similar silently it could help in so many ways! Thankyou for sharing ! You are so strong and sooo brave and I know it’s not the same as a in person community but I’m glad you are here in this one! It’s moms like you that make this space safe and warm.

Thank you so much for your kind words, they truly mean more than you know. I’m really sorry you’ve had to go through an abusive relationship as well—that’s something no one should ever have to experience. It takes so much strength to come out of that and keep showing up for your family the way you do.

It sounds like you have a lot on your plate too, and I can only imagine how chaotic things must feel at times. You’re doing an incredible job navigating it all, especially supporting both your stepdaughter and your son while raising your little one. That’s not easy at all. I really hope you’re able to find moments of peace and support for yourself in the middle of it.

Thank you for your encouragement—it really helps push me to keep stepping outside my comfort zone. And I agree, having a support system makes such a difference. I’m really grateful for this group and for moms like you who understand and care.

Sending hugs right back to you :yellow_heart:

Thank you so much for your kind words, they truly mean more than you know. Sharing my story wasn’t easy, but messages like yours remind me why I did. Knowing it might help even one other mama feel less alone makes it all worth it.

I’m really grateful for this community and for moms like you who show up with so much kindness and encouragement. It makes this space feel safe and real, and that’s something so special.

Sending you so much love right back—you’re part of what makes this community so beautiful :white_heart:

Thank you. You’re such a sweetheart for saying that. I believe that challenges we face in our life like that make us stronger, and it helps others to share your story. There are so many women who go through abuse and keep it to themselves, pretending everything is fine. I totally understand why they do, and that’s why it’s so important to share our experiences. You’re a very strong woman for sharing
