Postpartum hair loss

I’ve noticed lots of mom talked about postpartum hair loss. I also experienced that and no kidding, drain clogged every time I washed my hair. Tons of hair can be seen in the bedroom floor… So I totally understand postpartum hair loss can be scary, but don’t panic! But now my hair is even thicker than before pregnancy!! I’m sharing my tips here:heart:

First of all, please don’t be scare about it. We should understand that postpartum hair loss is often a normal part of the hormonal changes after pregnancy. During pregnancy, higher hormone levels keep more hairs in the growing phase, which is why many moms notice thicker, fuller hair. After birth, hormone levels drop, and those extra hairs eventually enter the shedding phase around the same time. So it’s not about your body has any issue or something.

Let’s focus on what we can control:

:sparkles: Sleep and rest whenever possible. Your body needs time to recover. I don’t do overnight feeding, my husband does it for me.
:green_salad: Eat enough protein and nutrient-rich foods. Don’t forget about iron and other nutrients. I took postnatal vitamin even if now it’s 8 months. Breastfeeding already took some nutritions from us, so it is essential to have good nutritions to keep our hair better!
:lotion_bottle: Be gentle with your hair. Avoid very tight hairstyles, excessive heat, etc. However, even if you see hair loss during shower, we should still clean our scalp regularly to make scalp healthy. A gentle scalp massage while washing can feel relaxing. I also used some hair treatment like herbal or ginger (but I’m not sure if it is indeed helpful). PS: Today when I took shower I massaged my hair for a couple minutes. Meanwhile, I also enjoyed Momcozy’s shower steamer! It’s so good!

Finally, please be patient with yourself. Your body went through pregnancy, birth, and recovery can take some time. Please don’t let postpartum hair loss steal your confidence. Your body is adjusting, and you’re doing an amazing job. See my photos that lots of hair is growing lol, cute isn’t it
