Hey moms! My name is Kimberly, and I’m a first-time mom with my first baby who is about to be 6 months old.
I know this might seem small to some, but it was huge for me because I generally cannot function when my home is dirty. I wish I had organized everything before I gave birth. Not doing that added extra weight to my postpartum depression and anxiety. Right when I came home, I started organizing everything when I should’ve been resting. I had a second degree tear and was lifting heavy things and bending in all sorts of ways, which made my pain even worse. I didn’t set up the Momcozy bottle washer when I should have, and I hadn’t sterilized the bottles or my Momcozy breast pumps. The first couple of days were hectic. What I’m trying to say is moms, ORGANIZE YOUR HOME so you don’t have to worry about it later and can focus only on your recovery and your baby. Thank the Lord, my husband took care of everything at the hospital. We had talked about that at the beginning of my pregnancy because giving birth is a scary thing that I was never familiar with until 09/13/25. But we didn’t talk about how we would handle things after the birth. We had to figure it out on the spot. What I will do next time I get pregnant is have my husband take care of everything around the house while I focus only on my recovery and the baby. I should have done that this time, and things would have been a lot easier for me. Another piece of advice do your pelvic floor exercises so you can lower the chances of tearing! I wish I had done them. ![]()
Anyways, that’s my advice and a bit about how I prepared for motherhood. Hopefully this helps another mom.
