One thing I wish I knew was how my sleep would be affected with a baby. This is my first baby, and I had no idea!! Not that there’s anything you can really do to prepare yourself for this lol. I wish I knew that the lack of sleep would last such a long time…18 months and counting!!! I seriously don’t know how I’m functioning with only 1-2 hours of sleep at a time! Every few weeks, we seem to get one 3 hour stretch of sleep at night, and it is the most refreshing sleep ever! I am my daughter’s comfort when she wakes up in the night, and I wouldn’t change it for anything. I rock and nurse her back to sleep every time she wakes up, and she is just the most precious thing ever! ![]()

It is so amazing how our body can survive on such little amounts of sleep! My middle has been waking in the middle of the night again for a few weeks and so has my baby so sleep is not happening much around here
It really is amazing! Sorry to hear you’re having some sleep regressions over there too! The last few days, my daughter has been waking up every hour at night. She’s definitely having a growth spurt. She has been saying and trying to say so many new words. She said her first sentence the other day! She said “hold Ruff”, and handed me her stuffed dog, Ruff.
Yes we are having the wake up every hr growth spurt as well. Hope yall get some sleep soon! So sweet when they say new things ![]()
18 months and counting! you are so strong! It really is a shock to the system how long the sleep deprivation can last, but your love for your sweet girl shines through so clearly. She is lucky to have you as her comfort! precious moments. And hang in there Angela! ![]()
I hope y’all do too!
Awww you are so sweet to say that!
It really is amazing how we function on sleep deprivation!
We were in the same boat for a long time till we started co sleeping but even then he still wakes up to feed a lot it’s just not as long of a process as before but you said it!! It’s incredible how we can adapt to this level of sleep deprivation
It’s amazing how our bodies are capable of. Sometimes I wonder how we are still functioning with so little sleep. My husband is so groggy after taking over baby duty on the weekends so I can sleep. I hope you daughter lets you get a full night’s rest soon
Girl, I keep trying to get her to cosleep every so often. Shes just so used to sleeping in her crib that she thinks it’s time to get up when I bring her in bed. I guess that’s kind of my fault for bringing her into bed for her wake up nursing session so I can lay down a little longer in the mornings. I suppose this waking up all the time business will cut back when we stop breastfeeding one day
It’s mind boggling. No wonder we get “mom brain”! ![]()
Haha yes. Our brain gets completely rewired too. It’s amazing.
It really is amazing!
This!! Yesterday I was up until 7am slept until 10am. It is now 3:30am and I’m still up from 10am ![]()

That’s rough!
We are pretty amazing that we basically don’t sleep for 3 years
It really is! I would have never thought it was possible to function on this little sleep for so long! We have been getting one 3 hour stretch of sleep each night all this week. It’s been amazing to sleep that long of a stretch! The rest of the night, it’s every 1.5-2hours though. Much better than our waking every single hour a couple weeks ago!!
