Today’s reflection

Last summer, you were still growing safely beneath my heart. I spent those warm days wondering what you would look like, dreaming about the little person you would become, and counting down the days until I could finally hold you.

Now, here you are.

It’s hard to believe how much life can change in just one year. The baby I imagined is now smiling, laughing, reaching for me, and filling every day with so much joy.

As I watched your tiny feet today, it hit me that this is the only summer they’ll be this little. The only summer they won’t be running through the grass, chasing bubbles, or taking wobbly little steps. Before I know it, those tiny feet will be walking, then running, and one day they’ll carry you off on adventures of your own.

So this summer, I’m soaking it all in—the baby cuddles, the sleepy snuggles, the little toes, and every milestone in between. Because I know these moments won’t last forever.

I feel so incredibly blessed and lucky that I get to be your mama. Of all the places you could have landed, you landed in my arms, and I will never stop being grateful for that.

My sweet little nugget, thank you for making this the most beautiful summer of my life. :sun::white_heart::footprints:

This is very deep. I was also pregnant last summer with my baby and just thinking about how it would be whenever she was here now that she’s about to be one. I get very emotional thinking of how far I’ve come :sob: congratulations to you.

That is so well said! That’s how last summer was for us. Now my daughter runs every chance she gets. It’s amazing how just one year ago, she wasn’t even crawling yet. It’s true they grow up so fast :smiling_face_with_tear:

Me too :face_holding_back_tears:

This is so true and sweet! I remember that at this time last year, I was still getting used to feeling her kicks and trying to figure out the best foods to eat with gestational diabetes. Now, she’s 8 months old, has started cutting teeth, and her laugh is my favorite sound. I wish I could figure out her sleep situation better, but I’m thankful for the cuddles.
