Something I had no understanding of prior to breastfeeding was breastfeeding pain- I thought it was natural and easy…I had no clue I would be wincing in pain, sometimes crying in pain. It does get better and it got better…but I had just thought little babe would go on and it just feel weird, not painful. Carnival feed at the easy stage.

Yes those first latches, I tensed up everytime it was time to latch

Omg same !! I had nooooo idea it was gona be bad! Then I was using mom Frida nipple cream and I had an allergic reaction to it was the worst !! And after going through that getting better here comes the little chomper teeth. 
Yes!!! With my first I was 16 and I wanted so badly to breastfeed. I latched her for the first time and within 5 minutes my nip was bleeding (baby didn’t have the correct latch and the hospital was no help.) but I’m so sad I didn’t breastfeed her 
The expectation that breastfeeding will be effortless makes the initial pain such a shock. Wincing through those early feeds is incredibly tough, but you are so right. it does get easier. Proud of you for pushing through!
The breastfeeding pain that first month was so intense! I had no idea about that either. I had to google it, and people said just push through the pain and it will eventually stop hurting. Now when I nurse my daughter to sleep sometimes, I don’t even realize she stopped nursing and is just laying in my arms! I just get lost in my thoughts
Just hen I thought it was getting better then the teething stage hit hahahaha it does get better though you are right but quite the learning curve forsure
Yes those first few latches hurt. I wish they taught mamas how to latch properly in the hospital to prevent mamas pain
Same! I also didn’t realize how much work it would be. It’s definitely worth it though!

Felt like razor blades for weeks. And none of the nipple creams helped !
The initial pain still makes me tense up when I think about it
. No one prepared me for that! Thank goodness it gets easier, but that first month was awful!
