Breastfeeding Story

My breastfeeding journey was not at all what I expected. I planned to exclusively nurse til I went back to work and planned to have 3.5 months before I started pumping. I thought my body and my baby would just know what to do and do it. I never knew we would have low transfer issues impacting my supply or our ability to nurse effectively. I never thought I’d start pumping week 2. I never thought I would need to give my baby formula. I never thought I’d feel so defeated, unprepared and not enough.

All of these things were so incredibly hard to overcome and push forward, but what I learned is that we as moms will do whatever we need to do for our babies and we will push through no matter what. I never knew how strong I would be through it all and how proud I could be of my journey.

You are more than enough!! I don’t think there is a set way to do anything and how we learn is by experiencing it when baby is born! I had to learn as I went too and nothing went according to plan but as long as baby is loved healthy and fed that’s all that truly matters

You did and still are doing great

You are enough!! Your worth isn’t measured in ounces and a fed baby is the most important thing no matter if it is breast milk or formula. I had to realize that as well give yourself some grace momma your doing amazing!

You should be proud of your journey!! I’m with you that I never thought my baby would have formula, but there’s no shame in giving it-- you’re still doing amazing! All Mom’s who push through like you are! :heart_hands:t3:
