Getting better rest while pregnant

I wish I can get better rest sleeping on my sides rather than back at 23 weeks pregnant. I always end up on my back and have to change positions. OneWishADay

I WOULD ALWAYS END UP ON MY BACK AND MY OBGYN YELLED AT ME :sob: side sleeping was so uncomfortable but the pregnancy pillow helped a lot with that as much as it could

I have the pregnancy pillow. Been having it since 5weeks. It’s the only thing I sleep with. Still I end up on my back. Last week my hips started to hurt from being on the sides.

Pregnancy pillow was my best friend. But I was never much of a side sleeper. Every time I ended up on my back, my husband would nudge me and tell me I need to sleep on my side lol.

I get up so often to use the restroom, those times I make sure to lay back down on my side. But of course I still end up eventually on my back. Iguess I still have a lil time to try to adjust lol

My doctor shared this tip with me. I hope it works for you too. If hip pain is bothering you, try placing a small pillow or rolled towel between your knees when side sleeping. It can help align your hips and reduce pressure :heart_hands:

Thank you I will try that tonight.

You cannot control your body while you’re sleeping so how do these OBGYNs expect us to?:sob: I honestly was hardly able to sleep on my back because my babys weight would crush my lungs and I couldn’t breathe.

Yes that’s why I’m trying to adjust and get use to sleeping on my sides, because I know the further along I get, the more tough it’ll be on my back.

You need a pregnancy pillow one that also supports the back. Helps so much. I had bad sciatic pain both pregnancies I don’t know how I would have managed without it.

I currently have the huge momcozy one. I seen one on Babylist that’s much smaller, you lay in the middle and it just supports the back and belly only. I’m going to give that one a try. :crossed_fingers:t5:

Sleep has been such a hassle for me as well. My back seems to always hurt when I wake up and I think my body naturally wants to be on its back. Used to be a big side sleeper, but now that im pregnant it seems harder!

The pregnancy pillow helped so much with this!

Someone mentioned putting a pillow between the legs. I did it and it helped a lot plus my huge pregnancy pillow. It helped especially for the hip pain I was getting. I would still go on my back every now and then. I just wake up and roll on the side and grab the pillow for extra support.
