I am so grateful for my family. I wish there was more I could do to show how appreciative I am for them. They have provided a house for us and made it possible for me to stay home with my daughter. Before she was born, we were living in a camper trailer on our land. We were in the process of saving up to build a home. We had barely started building when I found out I was pregnant, and we have a ways to go saving up to build the rest of it. My mother-in-law took us into her home, and it has been such a blessing. She and my brother-in-law help with our finances in return for caring for her. My mother-in-law is elderly, and the last thing we want is for her to be in a nursing home because of the help she needs on a daily basis. We’re able to contribute by caring for her, cleaning, and buying groceries. We are glad to be able to help her during these last years of her life. She is so excited to get to watch her granddaughter grow up! I’m so thankful to be able to share these moments with her and to be able to stay home with my daughter.
As you can see from the pictures, I live in these cheap maternity tank tops from Walmart. They’re great for nursing, but they’re not very cute. I wish I had some size large Momcozy nursing tank tops. They look so nice!
Oh my gosh you guys are adorable and you are making that Walmart tank look like it’s straight from Paris fashion week mama
I think this might be one of the sweetest stories I’ve read. I’m so happy grandma gets care and to spend time with her grandchild I know a lot of people don’t get this experience this intimate time with their loved ones while being cared for and it’s just heart warming to see the love you have for each other in both vulnerable times !! Ugh I think I’m going to cry love this so much
Awww thank you! You’re so sweet to say that about my tank top!
It truly has been a blessing for us. I am so glad things are working out the way they have been. I cannot even begin to tell you about the stress I had when I was pregnant, thinking I was going to have to bring up a baby in a small camper with two large dogs
Same! Omg we need cuter nursing outfits that are not $120 for a dress! I look at nursing clothes and it’s soooooo expensive! My husbands shirts work just fine
We lived in a camper for a few years (my husband traveled for work so we were gone months at an time) and saved up money to build our house and we worked on it a little at a time in between jobs. My husband mostly did it by himself I helped when I could . We got enough done to move in and work on it as we can now and are almost done with it thankfully. We live next to his grandmother and I helped take care of her until I got pregnant with my last baby and her health declined and now she requires sitters during the day. You are right nursing clothes are so expensive and It’s not in’s the budget right now with trying to finish the house so I try to make what I have work for now but I am going to have to check out the Walmart tanks and get a few of those thanks!
It’s definitely different living out of a camper! I actually miss it sometimes because I was more in tune with nature (and the weather because omg those tornado watches were even scarier than they are now because you could be blown over so easily!).
Congratulations on your house almost being finished. That’s so exciting! My husband does most of the work on ours too. I’m his helper and pass him tools and hold things in place.
That’s nice that you were able to help his grandmother, and that she lives so close! I bet she is so happy to see her grandbaby all the time!
Yes tornadoes or just bad weather in general always made me nervous in a camper! She has dementia really bad now and doesn’t remember a whole lot but when we walk in with the kids she lights up and gets so excited and it is so sweet to see so we take them as often as we can.
