Growing apart and together🌱

I wish someone would have sat down and talked to me about friendship. The friends you slowly start to lose when you announce your pregnancy and by the time the baby arrives, they’re gone. Becoming a mom begins an entirely new chapter of life and some of your closest friends do not enter that chapter with you, especially the ones without kids. There’s no mal intent or bad blood so to speak, just friends growing in two different directions. This happened with one my best friend I’ve had since 3rd grade. We used to be inseparable now we maybe text each other once a month.

On the flip side of that coin, some other friendships of mine have grown deeper roots as we all became moms together all within two months a part. It’s all easy and relatable when everyone’s in the newborn trenches together. Instead of going out for drinks now, we’re taking turns with the bottle warmer. Instead of heading out of town for trips, we’re driving 30 minutes down the road for a park meet up. It’s definitely a slower, sweeter chapter, and I’m glad I’ve got a few good friends to experience it all together.

ALSO, thankful for the Momcozy Community and all the new friendships made here:yellow_heart:

Friends come and go as life changes and THAT’S OKAY:heart:

It definitely changes things when you have kids and the people you thought would be there aren’t but it is nice the new friendships that come out of being parents and going through some of the same struggles.

The shift in friendships postpartum is rarely talked about, but it’s so real. While losing those old connections hurts, finding your village in the newborn trenches is such a beautiful gift. Slower, sweeter park meet-ups are everything. So glad you found your community here! :heart_hands:

This was a big adjustment. I never had many friends but after having a baby it most definitely is nonexistent. That’s why I’m thankful for the Momcozy group too

Same! I feel like my village is small sometimes but I know those within it are true and aren’t going anywhere!:yellow_heart:

I didn’t expect to lose friends, but the ones we lost were meant for that time in our life and ones that grew deeper and the ones we gained are meant for this! Also yes this community really is amazing so grateful for all our connections
