I Wish: I Held Her More

Today’s “one wish a day” hits a little deeper than usual… :white_heart:

My biggest fear right now?
That I’m not holding my 8-week-old enough.

Between battling insurance, navigating PPD, and just… real life with a 2-month-old—this season is HARD. Like, truly exhausting in ways I never fully understood before. :baby_bottle::thought_balloon:

So today, my wish is this:

To every mom out there who feels like she’s falling short… you’re not alone. And more importantly—you’re not doing it wrong.

You don’t have to match what you see online.
You don’t have to keep up with anyone else’s version of motherhood.

Ask yourself this:
Is your baby fed?
Loved?
Protected?

Then that is enough. More than enough. :white_heart:

I’ve seen the picture-perfect, glamorized newborn phase… and lately, I’ve taken a step back from it all.

Instead, I’m choosing to:
:sparkles: Reflect
:sparkles: Heal from a difficult birth
:sparkles: Truly bond with my baby—and my partner

And in the quiet moments, when that doubt creeps in… when I feel like I’m not enough…

I look into her big, beautiful eyes. :baby:t4::two_hearts:

And somehow, I just know
everything is going to be okay.

Well said! It’s so easy to get caught up in other people picture perfect lives online. I’ve definitely been guilty of comparing myself to other mamas on the internet. We have to remember every baby is unique, and there is no “one size fits all” for what’s normal. As long as their needs are taken care of and they are loved on frequently, then you’re doing it right!

This is beautifully written and most of the time those picture perfect lives are to make themselves feel better and aren’t really true. You’re doing a great job and know what’s best for your baby!
