For the past 3 days, my baby has been in pain. She cries constantly, even while she’s sleeping, and she’s barely eating. Normally, between formula and breastfeeding, she would take around 180–200 ml, but over the past 3 days, her intake has drastically decreased. She sometimes doesn’t even take 20–30 ml, and she barely breastfeeds for 5 minutes.
On top of that, she has diarrhea and seems to be in a lot of pain. She curls up and twists because of the pain.
I went to see a general practitioner because her pediatrician is on vacation. The doctor told me that everything seemed fine except for her hernia, which could be bothering her because it is becoming trapped and there are bowel loops involved. She told me to monitor it, and that if the hernia doesn’t go back in immediately when pressed, I should go straight to the emergency room.
I’m in so much pain seeing my baby like this. I’m really worried.
I am so sorry this is happening to your baby! I feel your pain. It’s so hard when they aren’t well and are in pain. I hope your baby feels better soon.
Aww momma I’m so sorry your baby isn’t feeling well. My mom had an hernia on her stomach and was always told to leave it alone as she can cause it to hurt more. I honestly wouldn’t mess around with it because babies can’t communicate and I wouldn’t want to make it worse. If you see baby isn’t eating enough, cant poop and in more pain I suggest calling your local nurse to see what they suggest or going to the E.R.
I really hope babygirl gets much better and you both are able to get some sleep. Again I’m so sorry baby isn’t feeling food and I know how horrible it may feel not being able to help, but try to take care of yourself and keep an eye on her.
Thank you so much for your advice and comfort ! It means a lot to me . I I dont press it everytime , just some to check but I will follô’ow your advice, as you know more about the Topic than me
I’m so sad to hear she is going through so much pain. It just breaks my heart to see a baby in pain like that. It’s so hard when they tell you to just wait and see what happens. Like isn’t it their job to give you a solution? You could always take her to the ER anyways just to be sure
Thank you so much love ! With the way I know myself if I see no changement for2-3 days I will take her to ER. Because I called them they Said I should see my doctor first
Keeping you and your daughter in my thoughts. You’re doing everything you can, sometimes these things just happen. Remember it’s no one’s fault. All you can do is love em and leave things up to a higher power of your own personal beliefs and hope they guide the doctors well.
You’re welcome. You are a strong woman, and strength doesn’t mean carrying the weight of burden by yourself. Thank you for using your strength to be vulnerable, open, and willing to surrender. Your doctors have a better idea of how to treat your baby because YOU knew there was something wrong. You got help instead of ignoring her needs or trying to solve something on your own that needs medical intervention. That’s a good mom.
There is literally nothing worse than a watching our babies be in pain and feeling so helpless to it all! I know it’s so so hard you are an amazing mother and I hope they figure out a way to get her back to feeling in tiptop shape soon! I know the anxiety and not knowing is just awful I will keep you and baby in my thoughts and close to my heart
Just seeing this and am praying for you and your baby girl! It is so hard to watch your baby’s hurt or be sick and not be able to take the pain away. I would take her in to get a second opinion especially since she is not wanting to eat.
